Dance Fever

Trying more options for monkey wear with these two sweet ballerinas. I got quite lucky and found the fabric  for the tutus in the remnant bin. :D

Brink

I gave Brink huge green eyes and a groovey plaid hat and scarf. He is enjoying the hot chocolate and cookies made out of sculpey by my youngest daughter.

Animal Crackers!

I made the monkey with the fox hat for a friend and decided to try one with a bear hat. I added the bear paws to jazz up the plain white scarf and really liked how it came out! I think they look quite sweet together!

Every once in a while I make something that is not a sock monkey! :)

Fevzi

Sometimes the obvious choice does not occur to me until one day I have an epiphany and finally make a sock monkey with a fez. I really love how it came out!

Fevzi is available here http://www.etsy.com/listing/61832850/fevzi

Jomo

I had grand plans of making tons of Halloween monkeys and have not yet because of my inability to manage my time very well. What a loser! I did manage to make a monkey from this nifty pair of striped socks that I really like though. Jomo is sporting a lime green scarf and bright orange hat. It's kinda fall-ish really!

Jomo is available here http://www.etsy.com/listing/59187124/jomo

Edd and Matching Monkey Wear

Yay! First complete sock monkey and matching life-size hat and scarf.  Available here http://www.etsy.com/listing/58550215/edd-and-matching-fleece-hat-and-scarf

I think this came out soo cute!! A little kid walking around with his or her monkey and hat/scarf combo would just kill me. I hope this works out well for my struggling etsy shop.

Monkey Twins Powers Activate!

What cute little monkeys! Here is my Daughter modeling a fanciful fleece hat that matches her sock monkey's hat!  My next marketing plot- Matching monkey wear!

Hopefully I will be able to finish some sets of monkeys and life size versions of their hats and scarfs that can be worn by their adventurous owners and post them to ye ol' etsy site http://www.etsy.com/shop/Monkeystyle this weekend.

Monkey Line Up

These guys are so much fun to make! I just wish I knew how to promote them better on Etsy...

Odette

More Fleece fun! I am thinking about doing matching life size scarves and hats in the future. I think it would be a fun gift for children. :)

Imperial on his sweet ride

Since I posted my Daughter's clay figures I felt I should also show off my Son, Gabriel., and his mad Lego making skills. I had the perfect fabric to use as my space background. A cool satin finish with sparkles!

Coffee Cake Hill

These are some characters made by my youngest Daughter, Clea. She is 10 years old and a very gifted artist who has the most creative and original ideas.  Charcters from left to right: Kirre, Myconid, Policeman, Jalapeno, Clea, Steve (Jack's pet), Jack, and Galeb.

Since Clea watched the movie, "A town Called Panic", http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3uG8LLuVPQ she has been inspired to work with clay more then ever.

Yum Yum Pancake!

Marcel obviously loves pancakes! Who doesn't?

I had a lot of fun making a chocolatechip cookie pillow so I thought I would try a pancake pillow too. These pillows are fun and easy to make and my kids love them. :)

Marcel is available here  http://www.etsy.com/listing/48657602/marcel

Euen

Euen was made from a pair of sturdy, but plain moss green socks and looked a tad bit dull. I went to the fabric store and purchased a bit of pretty blue, plaid flannel and made him this nifty vest and cap. He looks quite dapper now!

Mikey Dread

This is a Rasta style sock monkey done on request for a lovely customer of mine. I call him Mikey Dread after a favorite reggae artist of mine. The real Mikey Dread sported an awesome beard, but my Mikey is clean shaven. Perhaps I should look into to making bearded sock monkeys...

Candy Stripers

Who says horizontal stripes make you look fat?

I made these two as a gift for my friend's children in England. I love when my monkeys get to travel!

Simian Alien

Alien monkey experiment. After making monkey and alien plushies, this was really the only logical choice.

Aloysius

Aloysius is a little bear I made from some very soft brown fabric I scavenged from the remnants bin. He did not turn out exactly how I had planned and came out with a koala-like look. Still, he is cute in his way and not a little nefarious.
The three bears I have made do not have movable joints, but I am looking into the parts and mechanics of making some with that ability in the future. I have so much to learn yet.

Awww, baby's first rocket!
Blip is Probe's younger sibling. I made him as a companion piece for Probe whom is going to be a gift for my buddy, Jim's Mom. I love these aliens and plan to make more!

Marcel

Marcel likes building elaborate treehouses and riding elephants in parades.
This little guy was sitting unfinished in my sewing bag for months. I finished him today and gave him a colorful, little jester's hat and yellow scarf.
He is for sale at my Etsy shop http://etsy.com/shop/monkeystyle

Handemade in Vegas Team

Like a I just joined the Handmade in Vegas team here in town. It is really exciting for me to find a group of local crafters in which to bounce ideas off of and share information on the local crafting scene! There is also a Etsy site which features items from the group so show some love and support your local artisan!

Spider Monkey! Spider Monkey!

I made this for a DeviantArt contest called BUGS! I did not win, but I still love this guy!

Monkey likes Cookie!

Here is Orion with a giant chocolate chip cookie pillow that I made for my daughter. Mmmm, still warm and made with love.

Sterling the Wolf Boy

I created Sterling last night. I hope to become better at my plushie making skills so I can branch out. So far I am happy with the results and look forward to creating many more!

Blog Away!

Hi!

I am here to promote my sock monkeys and other oddball creations. Take a look at some of my plushies and kung fu loving monkeys here.
